A Sydney man has allegedly been caught trying to persuade the mother of a 10-year-old child to let her have sex with him.
The 63-year-old man has been charged for allegedly trying to groom two young girls for sex.
Police say the man thought he was speaking to the mother of a 10-year-old about sexual acts he wanted to perform on her child.
In fact, police said, he was speaking to an undercover detective from the NSW Police child abuse and sex crimes squad's child exploitation internet unit.
He also allegedly tried to groom someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl.
The Daily Mail in Australia say the man allegedly engaged in highly sexualised conversations and made arrangements to meet with the child for sex.
He had no clue he was speaking to a police officer.
The man was arrested at about 11am on Tuesday.
Officers then raided a home in Sydney's eastern suburbs, where a laptop, computer tower, a video camera, and electronic storage devices were seized.
He was refused bail and was set down appear in the Penrith Local Court.
