Documents, photos and memorabilia from the life of black activist Malcolm X went on display yesterday in observance of what would have been his 80th birthday. Many are being seen in public for the first time.
The exhibits, including his eighth-grade memo book, his application for a Nation of Islam name, and the shells from the shotgun that killed him, are being displayed at the Schomburg Centre for Research in Black Culture in New York.
