KEY POINTS:
Malaysia's opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has filed a defamation lawsuit against a male aide who accused him of sodomy, vowing to clear his name in the second sex scandal of his life.
"I went through hell before," Anwar said, referring to the first upheaval in his life a decade ago when he was accused of committing sodomy with his family driver and an aide.
Anwar has denied the new sodomy accusation, dismissing it as a political conspiracy.
Anwar is now holed up in the Turkish Embassy, claiming he fears a government plot to kill him.
