Major quake strikes PNG

WASHINGTON - A 7.3 magnitude quake struck the New Ireland region of Papua New Guinea on Friday, the US Geological Survey reported.

"No damage has been reported at this point in time to the US Geological Survey," an agency spokeswoman said.
