A 6.6 magnitude earthquake has struck off the coast of Papua New Guinea but is not expected to have caused a tsunami.
The quake struck at 7.24am local time (10.24am NZT), 4km north-east of Kandrian, New Britain, at a depth of 43.2km, the United States Geological Survey reported.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has not issued a warning following the quake.
