Magician David Blaine began his latest death-defying feat yesterday: spending a week submerged in a 2.5 metre sphere filled with water at Lincoln Centre in New York.
Blaine began a seven day endurance challenge which will end with an attempt to set a world record for holding his breath.
His gear will include a helmet that allows two-way communication with his support team.
Tubes will give him oxygen and liquid nutrition.
