LONDON - A number of London underground stations were evacuated on Thursday after reports of a "bang" at Liverpool Street station.
"People have been trapped for 30 minutes, fainting and panicking," said one Reuters eye witness at Euston underground station.
Media reports said ambulances had been called to Liverpool Street station.
British Transport police said the "bang" at the station may have been power-related. Early reports indicated a city wide power outage and some casualties.
Witnesses reported people "streaming out" of the Aldgate tube station covered in blood.
