London rickshaw driver tries to charge tourist $1320

The moment a London rickshaw driver attempted to charge a tourist £600 ($1320) for a 30-minute ride has been caught on camera.

Uploaded to YouTube the footage was recorded by a member of the public on Oxford St last week.

The Dutch tourist is visibly shocked after the driver tells him it's £10 for one minute for one person and asks: "How do you charge £600 for half an hour?"

The driver then claims they made an agreement about the price.

Despite the driver telling the person recording to "stop filming" the video continues.

The tourist threatens to go to the police saying "it's not legal" but the driver reiterates that they made an agreement.

According to the Daily Mail a spokesperson for the Mayor of London says there are concerns over the pedicab trade and calls for more legislation.

Another rickshaw driver told the Evening Standard £600 for half an hour is "totally disgusting".

"My normal price is £1 a minute. I could rent a helicopter for £600."
