A New Zealand engineer is calling for volunteers to help fix Samoa's power supply system.
Scott Mulholland from Oceanic Communications says they have had an approach from the power supply company, which is in desperate need of six linemen to help reconnect power to the tsunami-hit south coast of Upolu.
"Oceanic Communications has answered the call. We'll cover off the airfares, accommodation... and we would like six linesmen if they're free and can give their time and come up to Samoa."
Linemen with the time to donate should contact the company on 04 384 7266.
Mr Mulholland says the destruction in Samoa is mind blowing.
He says the clean up is going to be massive and will take a long time, with much of the tourist infrastructure has gone.
"There's a lot of resorts and adventure tourist operations etcetera, because they are on the coastline. And then you've got 14 villages around those activities, have been dealt just a savage blow."
