They were school teachers and youth football coaches, real estate agents and local business owners.
They were parents, siblings, husbands, wives, neighbors and friends.
They travelled to Las Vegas to see their favorite stars, posting videos and photos to social media.
At least 59 of them never made it home after a gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of a Las Vegas hotel onto a crowd of more than 22,000 below at a country music festival.
Details emerged Monday about the lives of those who died, as well as countless more who were injured. Friends waited for text messages that never came, families learned the worst from hospitals and local authorities.
In a few cases, families still frantically searched Monday night for news.
Many have launched fundraising campaigns for the children and families left behind, while others have vowed to start scholarship funds in their loved ones' names.
1. Denise Salmon Burditus, 50
Denise Salmon Burditus of Martinsburg, West Virginia died in her husband of 32 years, Tony Burditus' arms just minutes after posting a picture of themselves at the festival.
Tony put a new photo of him kissing his wife on his Facebook page after the shooting to which several people have commented on, sharing their condolences.
The couple had two children and four grandchildren.
Tammy Petersen Hacker wrote: "Oh Tony, I just keep looking at the cool beautiful pictures both you and Denise have been sharing of all the fun you were having in Vegas and at the festival. Your loss is unfathomable. Thoughts and prayers to all of you guys."
2. Bailey Schweitzer, 20
Scott Schweitzer, the owner of the Bakersfield Speedway in California confirmed his daughter's death to Eyewitness News.
Bailey Schweitzer was a Centennial High School graduate who worked with Infinity Communications.
In a Meal Train post set up to deliver meals to her grieving family, she is described as "goofy, outgoing, loved by so many, and she is going to be terribly missed... she was a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, and amazing aunt".
Hannah Ahlers, a mother of three from Murrieta, California, was reportedly shot in the head.
Dave Ahlers, her father-in-law, confirmed to the Las Vegas Review Journal she had been shot in the head while in the city for the festival with her husband, Brian, and three other couples.
The couple had three children, aged 3, 11 and 14, and her father-in-law described her as a "loving, caring and devoted mother" who running the kids around from soccer practice to school events.
Southern California resident Chris Roybal, 28, died after he was shot in the chest, ABC Chicago station WLS reported.
Roybal was a Navy war veteran who served in Afghanistan.
His last publicly visible Facebook post was chilling.

"A question people ask because it's something that less that 1% of our American population will ever experience. Especially one on a daily basis. My response has always been the same, not one filled with a sense of pride or ego, but an answer filled with truth and genuine fear/anger. *which by the way, go hand in hand*," he posted.
It is understood he was in Las Vegas with his mother Debby Allen.
After the shooting she posted a series of frantic messages on Facebook.
"I am safe. I just can't find Christopher Roybal anywhere. Hes not answering anyone's phone calls," her first message said.

On their wedding page on The Knot website, it reads: "We were the couple that never should have met, fallen in love or had a future together....but life is funny and we believe God brought us together as soul mates. We have shared amazing times together and nearly unbearable heartaches but through it all we have grown stronger in our love for each other and our families."
6. Lisa Romero, 48
A mother-of-three and secretary at Miyamura High School in Gallup, New Mexico, is among the dead.
Lisa Romero's husband Chris forgot her wedding anniversary last year and tickets to the concert, as part of a four-day getaway, was a way to make it up to her, reported the New York Times.
The Daily Mail reported that Superintendent Mike Hyatt sent out an email to district staffers, saying "our prayers go out to her family during this tragic time."
7. Jessica Klymchuk, 28
A mother-of-four, visiting Vegas with her fiance from Edmonton, Alberta in Canada, died according to City News.
Klymchuk, 28, was an educational assistant, librarian and bus driver for St Stephen's School, said the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division.
Alberta Premier Rachel Notley sympathy for the loss.
8. Adrian Murfitt, 35
Commercial salmon fisherman Adrian Murfitt, from Anchorage, died at the concert, according to his friend and fellow festival-goer Brian MacKinnon.
He told KTUU that Murfitt was "one of the happiest people I know".
He shared a photo of himself with Murfitt at the concert on social media and wrote: "Sadly he died in my arms. I don't really know what else to say at this time. I'm really sorry."
9. Quinton Robbins, 20
Quinton Robbins, 20, of Henderson, Nevada, reportedly studied at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and worked as a recreational assistant at the City of Henderson.
His aunt, Kilee Wells Sanders, described Quinton on Facebook as "the most kind and loving soul".
She added: "Everyone who met him, loved him. His contagious laugh and smile. He was truly an amazing person. He will be missed by so many, he is loved by so many."
A friend of the family, Tyce Jones, told Newsweek: "Quinton was a pay-it-forward kinda guy. Always had a smile on his face and was a nice guy. He loved his family and loved to coach his little brother's flag football team. He will be missed."
10. Charleston Hartfield, 34

Charleston Hartfield, 34, is a military veteran known as Charles or Chucky, and also coached youth football, reported the Las vegas Review Journal.
Troy Rhett, said he sent Hartfield a text message late Sunday night, "hoping he would text me back."
"I figured he was probably busy helping others. I don't know a better man than Charles. They say it's always the good ones we lose early. There's no truer statement than that with Charles. ... Our hearts have just been very heavy since hearing the news."
Hartfield posted an image of the Route 91 country music festival on his Facebook page Sunday evening.
Another friend, Stan King, called Hartfield "seriously one of the nicest guys ever" and "the most true-blue American guy I've ever met".
The Las Vegas Police Department tweeted: "We are sadden to report that one of the deceased from Sunday night's shooting, was an off-duty #LVMPD police officer. #LVMPDnews"
McIldoon's parents, Al and Angela McIldoon, were flying down to Las Vegas.
They told the CBC: "We only had one child. We just don't know what to do."
His grandfather Bob McIldoon told CityNews Vancouver; "It's a terrible thing, terrible for everyone."
Fellow festival goer Heather Gooze of Spring Valley, Nevada spread word of his death on Facebook.
"Friends and family, I am OK. I am right outside of the festival grounds. We are not allowed to go anywhere,' Gooze wrote Monday morning. 'I am with a young man who died in my arms! RIP Jordan McIldoon from British Columbia. I can't believe this just happened!!!"
12. Susan Smith, 53
Our hearts are full of sorrow for the passing of Susan Smith. She was a wonderful woman, an advocate for our children, and a friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.
The Vista PTA Facebook page shared a photo of Smith while sharing their condolences.
They describer her as "a wonderful woman, an advocate for our children, and a friend".
Suzie Kelly Schultze wrote: "I loved working closely with this sweet lady during my days of volunteering/ coaching Jr. Olympics at Vista. She kept everything running smoothly & the kids loved her. Her sense of humor made me like her even more. She will be dearly missed & I feel honored to have known her. Prayers and love to her family."
13. Rachael Parker, 33
Rachael Parker, a police records technician, was shot and ultimately died in the hospital, the Manhattan Beach Police Department said.
Parker was among four department employees who were attending the Route 91 Harvest Festival while off-duty. Another suffered minor injuries.
"She was employed with the Manhattan Beach Police Department for 10 years and will be greatly missed," the department said in a statement.
The special education teacher from Manhattan Beach Middle School in California, was only recently engaged to fiance Christopher Willemse.
He reportedly proposed at the end of a vacation in New Zealand.
He reportedly held his fiancee in his arms as she died.
He said on Facebook: "The love and support that she and I have received during these trying times just shows how important this wonderful woman truly was. She lived life to the fullest and made me the happiest man in the world. Im so grateful for the kind words and gestures, it means the world to me, especially for her."
Mike Matthews, superintendent of the Mandistrict, said: "[Sandy] will be remembered for her sense of humor, her passion for her work, [and] her devotion to her students."
Casey is a 2004 alumna of the College of St. Joseph in Rutland, Vermont.

Bobby Parks was shot in the arm and hand and is awaiting surgery, Maddin said.
"It breaks my heart," Maddin said.
"People go to concerts to have a good time, connect with others and escape the tragedies of this world."
The couple had a daughter and a son.
Locals organised a 5km run on Saturday in her honor in Palmdale California and a mobile blood donation centre.
Parks' aunt, Rhonda Boyle, wrote on Facebook: "It's a sad day for me and my family my niece was murdered killed by that SOB in Los Vegas. Please pray for me and my family, she was a sweet woman... and a good mother".
John Phippen, who owned a remodeling and repair company in Santa Clarita, California, was at the concert with his son Travis - a medic - when he was shot dead, the Daily Mail reported.
Travis was shot in the arm but was still able to "patch up" at least 14 others at the scene, but wasn't able to save his own father.
Phippen was remembered by friends as a good man and an "amazing soul" who would often like to sing as he worked.
"He was a good man and (had) a smile that would light up a room," friend Thomas Polucki told told KHTS.
"He liked to sing while he worked. We did a lot of projects together... He's [an] amazing soul and he will be missed."
17. Rhonda LeRocque
LeRocque was a minister's wife, from Tewksbury, Massachusetts, and was at the concert with her six-year-old daughter, father-in-law and husband of 20 years, Jason, reported the Daily Mail.
Her father-in-law had just taken LeRocque's daughter home when the gunfire began.
She was reportedly shot in the back of the head.
Her devastated family told Boston 25 News that she was a country music lover, who loved her family and dreamed of owning her own company one day.
She was as "close to perfection as you can get", they said.
18. Dana Gardner, 50
Gardner, a mother and deputy recorder with the San Bernardino County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk's office, was shot twice - once in the chest and once in the arm.
Her daughter Kayla said on Facebook: "I am deeply saddened to say that my beautiful Mom has passed away as a result of the shooting at Route 91 in Las Vegas last night. We are devastated and still in shock trying to comprehend what happened last night. My family and I appreciate the outpouring of love and support and ask for prayers at this time... Dana Gardner I love you!"
He shared an image of her on Facebook with a caption that read: "A tragic loss of a kind, generous, and beautiful lady. She will be greatly missed."
20. Neysa Tonks
The mother of three boys worked as a technologent at a technology company based in Irvine.
On a GoFundMe page set up after her death, a colleague said she "brought joy, happiness, fun and laughter to so many of us".
The added: "She has always been there for her community in time of need, and now we would like to do the same for her."
21. Angie Gomez
Gomez was a former cheerleader who graduated from Riverside Polytechnic HS, in California.
The school said on Facebook: "We received word this morning that 2015 alumnus Angie Gomez, was involved in the Vegas shooting last night. While details are still emerging, we did receive confirmation that Angie succumbed to her injuries".
A graduate of California State University at Baskerville.
A cousin told Buzzfeed that Ramirez was always positive and happy and said, she was "the person in the family who everyone looked forward to seeing."
23. Carrie Barnette, 34
Carrie Barnette was Disneyland employee and a Pacifica High School graduate, from Garden Grove, California, who posted about her love of country music on social media often.
An old friend of Barnette, Ashley Cordelia - who lived just two houses away from the victim, described her as a "sweet soul".
She wrote on Facebook: "What really hurts is that all of those people were having a good time and someone abruptly brought that all to an end. Be free, rest with Jesus, and with your grandparents... we will honor your memory and cherish the times we had with you."
Anderson had a son with his girlfriend, Bianca Acosta, who posted a heartfelt tribute to Anderson on Facebook.
"The thing about my love story with Michael is that it has been ever lasting since the moment we locked eyes. I have been crazy in love with this man since I was fifteen. I never felt so much love and adoration.
"He was everything a woman could want and need in a man. So I held on tight. We fought long and hard to be by each others side. And when we finally came together it was like perfect harmony.
"Then came our baby boy and I couldn't believe how much I could love another little person so much that it consumes me. I look into my son's eyes and see his father. The man that I will never stop loving.
"There's no amount of time that'll surpass my love and hurt for Michael. He was our whole world. And now I simply don't know how to go on without him. Our worlds have changed completely. Our daily routines, first thing morning kisses and late night cuddles when the kids are off to sleep will live in my soul for the rest of my life. To know that I'll never have his comforting hands caress me, and strong arms pull my body into his in the middle of the night breaks my heart entirely. Rest in love mi amor, we will always love you."

Day Jr lived in Riverside and worked as a builder.
His four adult children were at the concert with him.
27. Dorene Anderson, 49
Anderson was the second person from Anchorage, Alaska, confirmed killed in the mass shooting.
Anderson's husband, John, works for the Alaska Housing Finance Corp. The CEO of that organisation sent an email to employees Monday informing them that Dorene had been killed in the shooting.
Friend, Marie English, told ABC News. English said Anderson was the treasurer for the Cowbell Crew, a nonprofit based in Anchorage, Alaska that supports local hockey teams.
Anderson described herself on her Facebook page as a stay-at-home wife and mother whose outside interest was a passion for the Alaska Aces, a minor league hockey team that recently disbanded and was sold to the parent company of the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers.
Anderson was visiting Las Vegas with her husband and two daughters.
Mark Baca, a friend of Tillow, said on Facebook he would always remember the man "for his big belly laughs and smiles and tremendous friendship."
30. Jack Beaton
Father of two Jack Beaton of Bakersfield, California, was celebrating his 23rd wedidng anniversary and reportedly used his body to shield his wife, Laura, from gunfire.
Jerry Cook, Beaton's father-in-law, told Bakersfield Now: "He put Laurie on the ground and covered her with his body and he got shot I don't know how many times.
"Laurie was saying he was bleeding through the mouth, bleeding profusely, she knew he was dying. He told her he loved her. Laurie could tell he was slipping. She told him she loved him and she would see him in heaven."
31. Victor Link, 52
Link, 52, was a loan processor living in San Clemente, California.
His nephew Vincent, told KBAK his uncle loved music and frequently traveled to concerts with his fiancée Lynn Gonzales.
He had a son, Christian Link, 23, who wrote on Facebook: "I love you so much Dad. Thank you so much for adopting me. Thank you so much for being the best dad.
"I just want to tell you how much I love you and I'm going to do all the things that we talked about but this time I'm actually going to do it! I love you Dad I'm so sorry you had to go."
32. Brennan Stewart
Friends of Brennan Stewart confirmed to KSNV that he was among those killed Sunday.
They had been searching for him most of the day, they said.
A woman he was with, Gia Capri Iantuono, shared a picture of herself with Stewart when she was unable to locate him.
"I dislocated my knee and as I was holding onto Brennan a man took action to protect me and pulled me away from him hiding me under a table," she said.
"I was unable to get back to Brennan and this man carried me running me to safety."
33. Cameron Robinson, 28
Robinson lived in Cedar City, Utah, and worked for the city of Las Vegas.
He was at the concert with his boyfriend, who was among the injured in the shooting, taking shrapnel to his back, but is expected to survive, Robinson's sister, Meghan Ervin, told KUTV.
She wrote on Facebook: "I feel like this is a horrible nightmare. He was the best uncle, brother, son, compion/boyfriend anyone could ask for. I honestly feel lost. He was so happy and an amazing man in his life! I will never understand this.. why him."
34. Bill Wolfe
Wolfe, head coach for the Shippensburg Greyhound Wresting team, was initially reported missing after becoming separated from his wife, Robyn, but Shippensburg police later confirmed his death.
Shippensburg Little League also posted on their Facebook page that Wolfe has been "a big part of the Little League community."
"It's with a heavy heart and deep sorrow, Stacee Etcheber has passed away," Al Etcheber, Stacee's brother-in-law, said in a statement posted early Tuesday morning on Facebook after she had earlier been reported missing.
Etcheber was a hairdresser of Novata, California.
At the concert, her husband told her to hide, then to run, as he helped a concertgoer next to him who had been shot, said Al Etcheber, her brother-in-law.
Her husband, Vincent Etcheber, is a San Francisco police officer, and his training kicked in immediately when shots rang out, Al Etcheber said.
He told Stacee and the couple's three friends to protect themselves behind a nearby barrier. Then he told them to run, just before the second round of shots rang out, Al Etcheber said.
37. Tara Roe, 34

Duarte, a recent University of Arizona graduate and an employee of the Los Angeles Kings hockey team, had been at the concert with her brother's girlfriend, Ariel Romero of Bellflower.
