Large quake shakes Indonesia

A huge earthquake has struck the western Indonesian province of Papua this morning.

Early indications suggest a magnitude 7 quake hit about 9.40am (NZT).

There is no threat of a tsunami across the Pacific Ocean through to Hawaii.
