Queensland Premier Anna Bligh will lead Labor to a crushing defeat at the Queensland election, according to a Newspoll.
Today's election will reduce Labor to barely 20 seats and hand Campbell Newman a massive parliamentary majority to launch his premiership, the poll in the The Weekend Australian has found.
The poll showed that Labor's base vote has slumped to 28 per cent and that the Liberal National Party (LNP) under Mr Newman will win at least 55 of the 89 state seats up for grabs.
The LNP is set to win government with a 11.7 per cent swing.
When the preferences are factored in, the LNP has 60.8 per cent of the vote with Labor on 39.2 per cent.
