KEY POINTS:
BRISBANE - Queensland Labor MPs have unanimously endorsed Anna Bligh as the state's first female premier.
The Labor caucus took 20 minutes to confirm a factional deal that handed Ms Bligh the leadership, after Peter Beattie announced his resignation on Monday.
The caucus also unanimously backed Transport Minister Paul Lucas as deputy leader.
Member for Hervey Bay Andrew McNamara will get a cabinet position.
Ms Bligh, who held the positions of deputy premier and treasurer in the Beattie government, is expected to hold a media conference this afternoon.
