Five New Zealanders are heading to Iraq next month to continue the Salvation Army's community reconstruction work.
The kiwi contingent will be based for six months in Al Amarah in southeast Iraq.
Team leader Captain Bruce Coffey also spent a few months in the war-devastated area last year.
He was involved in reconstructing schools, and providing medical facilities and job opportunities.
Captain Coffey says Salvation Army teams have been working in Iraq on short-term engagements since August last year.
