A New Zealand naval officer and his wife have been injured by a bomb blast at a hotel in Egypt.
Lieutenant Commander Hugh Aitken and his wife were on holiday at the Hilton Hotel in Taba, when it was hit by one of three bombs.
Both have suffered minor injuries and are being flown to hospital for treatment.
Lieutenant Commander Aitken is a Force Liaison Officer with the multi-national force and observers, based in El Gorah.
The death toll is still being tallied but some reports said at least 30 were feared dead and 120 wounded after the blasts at three different Egyptian Red Sea Resorts packed with holidaying Israelis.
The largest blast was at the Taba Hilton.
Responsibility for the attacks has been claimed by a previously unknown group called Jamaa Al-Islamiya Al-Alamiya or World Islamist Group.
It says the attack was in revenge for the Palestinian and Arab martyrs who have died in Palestine and Iraq.
