"And that just brought it home."
She added: "When I heard I was just floored, absolutely floored, I was just speechless."
It was a "hugely emotional" day for her family, she said, adding the news had come as a "huge blow".
"It's just brought everything from March 8 back. I just can't believe it's happened again.
"I always said I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy, and I couldn't handle [other] families going through this," Mrs Weeks said.
"I just can't believe it's happened again. And the same airline. It just doesn't make sense to me."
Speaking from her Perth home, she said she understands the pain the families of those on board are going through.
"My heart goes out to those families, I know what it's like," she said, almost breaking down.
"I just can't believe them waking up this morning to that.
"I know the pain they're feeling and it's just horrid."
The terrible news had brought back thoughts about what happened to the flight her husband was on, she said.
"Is this what happened to MH370? I know we still don't know, but it's just as raw and real for us today as it was 132 days ago.
"It just brings it all home again and I just can't believe its them again."
Flight MH370 vanished en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, and it is still not clear what happened to the Boeing 777.

The mother of two young sons was on the phone to Malaysia Airlines yesterday, complaining about its lack of communication with MH370 families, she said.
"I just hope the families get the support they need and the authorities are forthcoming [with information], and they can get some peace because we haven't been able to and they're not very forthcoming, even now, with us."
She called on the relevant governments, authorities and the airline to "put appearances aside and just remember that these are people's loved ones, and they get all the help and support they need through this".
