There is still no word on the fate of a New Zealand pilot, kidnapped in Ecuador four weeks ago.
52 year old Nelson man, Dennis Corrin, was seized at gunpoint, along with nine other foreign oil workers, in the north of the country near the border with Colombia.
TwoFrench hostages escaped a their captors a few days later.
Foreign Affairs says there has been no communication from the kidnappers, but it is believed they are still in Ecuador.
It is unclear who is holding the hostages, but it is believed to be a group of organised criminals.
Authorities in Ecuador are warning it could be months before the kidnappers issue any demands.
