NAIROBI - Fifteen more Kenyans have died after drinking alcohol laced with a poisonous substance, taking the total to 36.
"Overnight, the total has risen to 36, and we still have 59 in a bad condition, very unstable and confused," Wako Dulacha, medical officer for the Machakos district just south of Nairobi, told Reuters.
The victims all took the locally-brewed drink - suspected to have been laced with methanol to increase its potency - on Friday, witnesses and officials said.
