A foreign journalist in China has had the bizarre experience of being arrested and detained by police, while live on a British news channel.
Mark Stone, a reporter for Sky News, was reporting live from Tiananmen Square when he was approached by police, led to their van and taken to a police station.
The camera kept rolling and the live feed went uninterrupted throughout the ordeal, as Stone commentated his arrest in real time to viewers in the UK.
The team had permission to film in the square, but police told them they were not correctly displaying their passes, and Stone did not have his passport with him as is required.
After the incident, Sky News indicated on its website that Stone had returned to their Beijing newsroom.
