A Singaporean has gone on trial in Indonesia with nine other suspected Islamic militants, believed to belong to Southeast Asian terrorist network Jemaah Islamiyah. The lead defendant, Singaporean Mohammad Hasan bin Saynudin, had been on the run for years under multiple false names. The men, arrested last July, face sentences of up to life in prison if convicted on charges of illegal possession of explosives, murder, plotting a terrorist attack and harbouring fugitives.
