A chilling phone call killer Jaymes Todd made to his father from prison has been revisited in court, revealing the 20-year-old was "disappointed" with how the attack on Eurydice Dixon played out.
Todd was before the Victorian Supreme Court last Thursday and Friday for a plea hearing ahead of his sentencing. He has pleaded guilty to the June 13, 2018 rape and murder of Ms Dixon on a soccer pitch at Princes Park in Carlton North.
Forensic psychologist James Ogloff gave evidence on Friday about his conversations with Todd in the days and weeks after his arrest. He was asked to explain a phone call Todd made from jail to his father, news.com.au reports.
During the phone call, Todd told his father he "had fantasised about rape before", he "was very disappointed at the way the crime took place" and "felt like sh*t and hoped it would be better next time".
Professor Ogloff said the statement "struck me as unusual" and "it was unclear … exactly what that meant".
