JERUSALEM (AP) Israel says it has arrested a pair of Palestinians suspected of killing of a West Bank setter.
The Shin Bet security service said Sunday that two young men from the southern West Bank had admitted to killing retired Israeli Col. Sraya Ofer last week. Ofer's wife was also wounded in the late night attack on the community near the Jordanian border.
The Shin Bet said the murder weapon has been recovered.
Israeli authorities say the motive for the killing is still unclear and it is unknown whether it was nationalistically or criminally motivated. The investigation continues.
The attack follows a string of recent attacks on Israelis after a relatively lengthy period of calm. A week ago a 9-year-old girl was shot. A month earlier two soldiers were killed.
