Iran has won the praise after setting a date to open its secret uranium enrichment plant to inspection.
In a development that raises hopes for a diplomatic solution to the impasse over Iran's nuclear energy programme, officials in Tehran agreed to give monitors access to the facility, near Qom, on October 25.
Mohammed ElBaradei, the director of the UN's International Atomic Energy Agency, praised Iran for moving from "conspiracy to co-operation".
