Best-selling author and journalist Bebe Moore Campbell, who tackled social issues from an African-American perspective, has died of complications from brain cancer, aged 56. Along with 1994's Brothers and Sisters, which explored race relations in the aftermath of the1992 Los Angeles riots, her other best-sellers included Singing in the Comeback Choir, What You Owe Me and 72-Hour Hold. She also wrote plays and children's books.
