Police say the woman who tried to open an exit door on a Boston-bound British Airways flight from Heathrow was intoxicated, Reuters has reported.
There was no indication of any terrorism tie to her actions, state police spokesman David Procopio said.
Police told Reuters that earlier reports that she had tried to open the cockpit door were inaccurate.
Massachusetts police initially said on Twitter that the woman had tried to enter the cockpit.
Reuters reported police identified the flight number as 213, which left London's Heathrow airport at 6.57am. ET.
British Airways said the crew had asked police to meet the flight due to an unruly passenger, Reuters reported.
