Authorities have started an investigation after an ultra-light plane crashed into a ferris wheel on New South Wales' mid-north coast.
The aircraft collided with the ferris wheel at a fairground in Old Bay, near Taree, on Saturday morning.
It is thought the Cheetah S200, which took off from a nearby airstrip, failed to gain enough height before striking the ride and becoming entangled in its metal arms.
Amazingly neither the two men in the plane, aged 53 and 32, nor any of the children on the ferris wheel were hurt.
"WorkCover has sent an inspector to the site and is conducting inquiries to ensure the ferris wheel is made safe before it resumes operating," a WorkCover spokeswoman said.
