The European Union has criticised Indonesia over the planned executions of three Christian militiamen who clashed with Muslims six years ago.
The men are scheduled to be put to death tomorrow for their role in the sectarian bloodshed on Sulawesi in 2000 in which 1000 people died. The fighting was part of a larger war between Muslims and Christians in the neighbouring Maluku archipelago in which up to 9000 died.
