Hundreds of people joined the leader of India’s ruling Congress party, Sonia Gandhi, in a re-enactment of a famous march. She said she hoped to spread the message of non-violence across the country. Mahatma Gandhi led the "salt march" 75 years ago in western Gujarat in defiance of a colonial law that allowed only the Government to make salt.
