Incest jailer Josef Fritzl is hawking his life story to the highest bidder just a month before he goes on trial for raping his daughter over a 24-year period, fathering seven children with her.
Now the Austrian is trying to get over $1m for his sordid story, which he claims is to provide a "secure future" for his incest family.
Austria has laws against paying criminals for their stories, but it is understood that no money would actually go to the 74-year-old, as it will be directed to his daughter Elisabeth, who was locked in a basement for 20 years, and six surviving children.
He has been declared bankrupt after authorities wound down his estimated $8 million rental empire.
Liquidator for the real estate business Walter Anzboeck told reporters over the weekend that he understood it was a "very sensitive matter" and that he would "do nothing without checking with the court, the family, the creditors and the victims' lawyer".
