Pakistani cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan was expelled from Karachi last night shortly after arriving on a domestic flight from Islamabad to launch an anti-government campaign.
Khan heads his own small political party. "He wanted to hold a rally in Karachi which is banned ... He has been sent back in order to maintain public order," said a government official.
Khan is allied with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who was deported earlier in the week.
