An eerie but as-yet-unverified photograph has emerged of what appears to be one of the Boston bombing suspects (circled in red) just metres from the 8-year-old victim Martin Richard (circled in blue).
The photograph shows the bag police believed contained the bomb not far from the boy (circled in red at bottom).
Other photos appear to show one of the suspects walking away from the scene of the blasts after the bombs were detonated.
The photo capturing the pair together is believed to have been taken just seconds before the blast.
The family had gathered at the finish line to greet Martin's father, who was taking part in the race.
