CUBA: Hicks agrees to plead guilty in Guantanamo
Australian prisoner David Hicks agreed today to plead guilty before a US military tribunal to a charge of providing material support to terrorists after deferring the entering a plea earlier on.
Two of Hicks three lawyers were disqualified by the judge for not following proper procedures to officially serve on the defence team.
Allegedly there had been discussions about a potential plea agreement under which Hicks would plead guilty in return for a reduced sentence.

Northern Ireland: Opposition parties seal power-sharing deal
Northern Ireland's main Protestant and Catholic parties agreed today to start sharing power on May 8 after their leaders put aside decades of hostility to hold a historic first meeting.
Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams and Ian Paisley, from the Democratic Unionist Party sat within a few feet of each other around a table but there was no public handshake.
Blair hailed the deal as a very important day for the people of Northern Ireland: "In a sense everything we've done in the last 10 years has been a preparation for this moment," he said.

Iran: Detained British sailors are well, says official
Iran says the sailors it detained are well but has not disclosed where they are being held.
Britain asked Russia, which has close diplomatic and trade ties with Tehran, and other states to help secure their release.
