Iran: British sailors to be released
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said today he would free all 15 British sailors and marines, making Britain a "gift" in a surprise announcement.
"To the Iranian people I would simply say this: we bear you no ill will...", Tony Blair said.
The announcement pulled oil prices down from recent highs.

US: Bush acknowledges Americans weary of Iraq war
"It's a tough war," Bush said in a subdued tone. "The American people are weary of this war."
Defending his decision to add about 30,000 extra troops to Iraq, Bush said he wants to bring stability to Baghdad.

Solomons: Aid days away for homeless
Thousands of people left homeless in the Solomons may have to wait for two more days, as rescuers struggled to reach remote villages.
Up to 5,400 people were homeless and in urgent need of food, water and shelter.
Food markets are reportedly closed, fishing disrupted and domestic farming damaged. Shops have stocks of food, but have remained closed since the disaster took place.
