Russia: Yeltsin farewelled with pomp and artillery
Boris Yeltsin, first president of independent Russia, today was lowered into the ground to the boom of a six-gun salute, watched by mourners including Putin and Bill Clinton.
Naina, Yeltsin's wife of 50 years, lingered for at least a minute at the graveside caressing his face.
There were fewer than one thousand people there -- a reflection of Yeltsin's mixed legacy.

Mexico: Tornado kills 10, injures 180
A tornado killed 10 people, injured at least 180 and left hundreds homeless when it struck along the US-Mexico border and cut a 6.4-km swathe of damage.
Dogs, trees and the roofs of houses went flying through the air. Mobile homes were knocked over in Eagle Pass, while an early warning system failed.
All 1500 residents of the Rosita Valley community south of Eagle Pass, where the tornado did the worst damage, were evacuated.
