PRAGUE (AP) " Electric train and tram transport across the Czech Republic have been badly disrupted after ice formed on overhead lines when temperatures dropped following rain overnight.
Czech Railways says the entire country has been hit, including the major line that links Prague with the eastern part of the country. Commuter trains to the capital mostly did not operate Tuesday morning as hundreds of trains had to be canceled.
Czech public radio says some passengers had to stay in stalled trains all night.
The tram network in Prague has been also affected and most trams are not expected to return to the tracks for hours.
The Czech Meteorological Institute has warned the unusual weather is not expected to change until late afternoon.
