A husband accused of the attempted murder of his wife, now in a coma, argues that turning off her life support would go against her religious beliefs.
Joe Korp was charged after Maria Korp was found left for dead in her car boot in Melbourne in February.
If her life support is removed and she dies, charges against her husband could be upgraded to murder.
A lawyer for Joe Korp told a tribunal yesterday Maria Korp would oppose ending the life of someone in her condition.
The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal hearing an application to appoint a guardian later decided to appoint the state public advocate as Maria Korp's limited guardian, taking the final decision about whether to prolong her life out of her family's hands.
