Not since Sept. 12, 2001 - arguably the most tumultuous in modern U.S. history - have international papers reacted with such panicked alarm about breaking news in the United States.
Among the most inflammatory covers was the Australia's Daily Telegraph's, which simply led with three letters: "WTF."
Spanish newspaper El Periodico offered readers an ominous phrase: "God forgive America."
