'House of Wax' melts at Movie World

A stage fire at Movie World on the Gold Coast followed a burning scene which got "out of hand" for the horror movie House of Wax, the production company said.

Filming would be delayed by only a few days despite the blaze.

There were no serious injuries but the blaze destroyed a sound stage and movie equipment worth millions of dollars.

It is understood a huge prop candle set other props alight.
