An Australian photojournalist recently released after being held hostage for 15 months in Somalia said yesterday that he was trying to highlight the plight of those less fortunate when he was kidnapped.
Nigel Brennan and Canadian journalist Amanda Lindhout were kidnapped by gunmen in August, 2008.
They were released on November 25 after a reported ransom was paid, some of it by Australian entrepreneur Dick Smith.
Brennan returned to Australia on Sunday.
