A manhunt is under way in Britain after a Good Samaritan was stabbed to death while trying to protect his paedophile neighbour from an attack.
Dennis Skinner intervened as the assailant attacked Francis Cory-Wright, 87, at his home in Little Gaddesden, Hertfordshire. While Cory-Wright was seriously injured, Skinner, in his 60s, suffered fatal stab wounds. The killer fled clutching tens of thousands of pounds.
Detectives named Ian John McLoughlin, 55, as the man they wanted to speak to. He has been jailed twice for killing homosexual men.
Neighbours said they believed Skinner investigated a commotion next door. McLoughlin had been released recently from the same prison where Cory-Wright had served half a 30-month jail sentence for a historic sexual assault on a 10-year-old boy.
