Hamas leaders grabbed in West Bank

Israeli soldiers rounded up at least seven of the Hamas movement's political leaders in the West Bank in a sweep last night, Hamas officials and relatives said.

The detentions appear to be an attempt to pressure the group after the failure of recent efforts to win the release of an Israeli soldier Hamas is holding in Gaza.

The Israeli military said 20 Palestinians had been detained.
