SYDNEY - One of five women allegedly indecently assaulted by a NSW gynaecologist said he used a piece of medical equipment like a "sex toy", a judge has been told.
Giving evidence in the NSW District Court today, the woman broke down while recalling the doctor's internal examination of her and his use of a probe while giving her an ultrasound.
The doctor, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded not guilty in the NSW District Court to five counts of indecently assaulting the women, who were patients of his between June 2002 and May 2003.
Crown prosecutor Margaret Cunneen SC said the doctor touched each of the women inappropriately.
But the doctor's barrister John Stratton SC said the women only came forward after a massive publicity campaign which was, to some extent, orchestrated by two firms of lawyers.
