Greenpeace fined after damaging reef

Greenpeace is to be fined 640,000 pesos ($16,570) after its flagship Rainbow Warrior II damaged a coral reef in the Tubbataha Reef Marine Park in Philippines during a climate change campaign.

The ship's bow sliced through a reef formation measuring 160 sq/m, a ranger said.

A Greenpeace official said the incident was an accident and was willing to comply with officials.
