ATHENS, Greece (AP) Greek police say a special anti-terrorism prosecutor has escaped injury after a letter bomb exploded at his home.
The bomb, made of gunpowder, was stuffed inside a large envelope and addressed to appeals court prosecutor Dimitris Mokkas.
Police say the prosecutor was away on vacation and, when he returned Sunday evening, a neighbor gave him his correspondence.
Mokkas thought the envelope, whose return address was the Greek chapter of an international NGO, looked suspicious and he threw it to the ground. The envelope burst into flames, but otherwise did no damage.
In July, a letter bomb was intercepted at the Association of Prosecuting Magistrates in July. In that case, a clerk handed it over to police and it was destroyed by bomb disposal experts.
