Villagers in southern China have accused the Government of hiring grave robbers to steal the bodies of their late relatives and cremate them.
The body snatchers were enforcing a national ban on burials that aims to protect China's arable land.
Five graves in Chengjiang village in the southern Guangxi region were pilfered, the Beijing Times reported.
When the relatives went to pick up the ashes, local officials asked them to pay for the cremations.
