A Brazilian glamour model has been subjected to ridicule after she turned the debris left behind by Superstorm Sandy into the backdrop for a series of bizarre photographs.
Nana Gouvea posed on top of fallen trees and damaged cars before posting the images on Facebook.
The 30-year-old was spotted practising her pout by passersby, who stopped to take their own snaps.
Her opportunistic photoshoot was mocked by the Gawker blog, which jokingly advised her: "The turmoil following a devastating natural disaster is a great opportunity to get out there and try poses, angles and wardrobe choices you normally wouldn't."
Facebook and Tumblr users set up spoof accounts. Profiles on each, both called "Nana Gouvea in Disasters", also mock her with images of the model superimposed over other tragic scenes.
