SYDNEY - The girlfriend of missing British tourist Peter Falconio is reported to have gone back to work in a Sydney book shop.
Joanne Lees and Falconio were ambushed in the Outback by a gun-wielding stranger on the Stuart Highway more than a month ago.
Lees is now reported to have returned to Dymocks where she worked before they set off on what should have been a dream holiday.
It is believed their attacker shot Falconio, 28, from Hepworth, near Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, before attempting to abduct Lees on July 14.
According to the Daily Telegraph in Australia, she spent her first day back at work carrying books, stacking shelves and dealing with customer inquiries.
Lees, 27, also from Huddersfield, left Alice Springs last week after having spent more than a month in the Northern Territory waiting for news about Falconio.
Lees's mother, Jennifer James, has said she thinks her daughter will stay in Australia until the gunman is found.
"I don't think she has any plans to come home without Peter," James said. "We want somebody to turn this man."
