A 6-year-old lower caste girl has suffered serious burns after being thrown into burning embers for entering the land of an upper caste man in northern India.
Govind Agarwal, a local police official, said Kamlesh Jatav suffered 30 per cent burns.
The girl is a Dalit, belonging to the lowest rung of India's caste ladder.
