Dutch judges have ruled that a prison cell for a "giant" prisoner is "somewhat cramped" but does not amount to inhumane treatment, meaning the oversized inmate must stay in jail.
The prisoner, Angelo MacD, who weighs 228kg and is 2.1m tall, pleaded to complete his two-year sentence for fraud at home because prison was too small for him and breached his human rights under European law.
His bed in the Krimpen aan de IJssel jail was originally 1.9m
long in a cell the prisoner has to stoop to enter.
