Gaza jobless rate reaches 45pc: UN

The unemployment rate in the Gaza Strip reached 45 per cent during the second half of last year, one of the highest rates in the world, the United Nations agency that helps Palestinian refugees said.

The agency also said that wages in the territory have plunged nearly 35 per cent in the past four years.
